MMA Legislative Reception

Dr. Melissa Pringle of AllenES joined many others at the Mississippi Manufacturers Association (MMA) legislative reception on February 15, 2022. The event was a great success with participation from manufacturers and legislators from across the state. 🩺💥 Lunch, Laughs, and Lifesaving Skills! 🍕🚑

Today’s lunch and learn at Allen Engineering and Services was anything but ordinary—we swapped sandwiches for CPR dummies and learned how to save lives between bites!

Our team got hands-on with CPR and First Aid training, and while there were a few laughs (turns out chest compressions are a workout!), the message was serious: being prepared can make all the difference.
💡 Why it matters:

* Emergencies don’t RSVP.
* Knowing what to do = confidence + calm.
* You never know when you might be the hero.

11th Annual Women’s Day Luncheon

Dr. Melissa Gordon Pringle, Ph.D. of Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. attended the 11th Annual Women’s Day Luncheon sponsored by International Paper and associated with the Sanderson Farms Championship Golf Tournament. The luncheon raised funds for the Children’s of Mississippi and featured Elizabeth Heiskell as the keynote speaker. Eating well and supporting a good cause…..what a great day out of the office!

2025 MMA PAC Golf Tournament

Allen Engineering and Science’s Rebekah Phyfer and Owen McIntosh held down the fort at Mississippi Manufacturers Association PAC Golf Tournament — armed with snacks, drinks, and the ultimate challenge: Guess how many tees were in the jar (spoiler: it was harder than it looked 👀).
It was great meeting everyone who stopped by our table — whether you came for the refreshments or stayed for the guessing game, we loved chatting with you!

🍷 Wine + Rocks = A Surprisingly Great Time

Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. hosted a wine tasting at the office — but with a twist. Our resident geologist and amateur wine connoisseur, Andrew Williams, GIT, educated us on Terroir (aka how soil, climate, and topography shape the taste of wine).

Turns out, geology isn’t just for fieldwork — it’s for flavor. From limestone to lava flows, Andrew showed how the ground beneath the grapes makes all the difference.

Great wine, great company, and a little science to swirl around. Cheers! 🥂

🌊 Advancing Stormwater Solutions Through Public Input 🌊

The City of Foley and Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. hosted a public meeting to support the development of a Stormwater Management Plan for the Bon Secour Watershed. Led by Jay C. Estes, AICP, Kori Nadine Armstrong, PhD, and Oliver Birch, the session engaged residents and stakeholders in identifying local drainage issues.

The team shared findings from recent fieldwork, highlighting flooding and drainage issues. Attendees contributed through interactive GIS mapping, providing valuable local insight to guide the next planning phase, which includes flood modeling and infrastructure solutions. The plan will focus on practical, cost-effective improvements that reflect community needs. Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. is proud to help Foley build a more resilient future through collaborative planning.

🌊 Protecting Our Coastal Watersheds 🌿

Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. team members Melissa Gordon Pringle, Ph.D., Jay C. Estes, AICP., and Josh Eisenhauer, P.E., participated in the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program’s CCMP Action Planning Workshop in Mobile, AL.

These Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plans are essential tools for identifying watershed challenges, outlining solutions, and building partnerships to protect our coastal ecosystems.

We’re proud to support this collaborative effort for a healthier, more resilient Gulf Coast.
