On January 26, 2022, Andrew Covington, P.E. of Allen Engineering and Science presented an environmental seminar regarding Upcoming Permitting and Compliance Deadlines. He also provided an update to the attendees regarding the new Large Construction General Permit modifications that are currently at public notice.
This was the 8th presentation of the Environmental Seminar Series.

AllenES recently completed construction of a weir on the Richard K. Yancey Wildlife Management Area along the Mississippi River in eastern Louisiana. Funded by the Lower Mississippi River Conservation Committee, the weir will maintain water levels in the Blackhawk Scar Lakes on the WMA which are popular fishing destinations.
Paul Lanning, RLA conducted a webinar this month covering topics such as Erosion and Sediment Control Measures, as well as Green Infrastructure Best Management Practices. The presentation was given to local Developers and Contractors as a part of the NPDES Phase II Stormwater Program for local municipal clients.
In the spirit of the giving season, AllenES donated approximately 200 earbuds to Madison Avenue Upper Elementary School in Madison, Mississippi to be used in classes and enjoyed by the students. We would also like to thank all of the educators, administrators, and school support staff for their commitment and dedication to the youth of today and future leaders of tomorrow! Your hard work deserves our attention and appreciation!!!

AllenES’ Senior Principal Planner, Jay Estes, AICP, participated in a Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Hazards Workshop hosted by Weeks Bay NERR, NOAA’s Office of Coastal Management, Mississippi State University, Mobile Bay NEP, and The Nature Conservancy. The interactive, hands-on workshop provided participants with the opportunity to learn more about applying natural solutions to assist in mitigating the impacts of natural hazards.
