Our Construction Management Team helped complete the geosynthetic liner for two major projects last week. They worked long, intense hours to complete the projects before the potential negative impacts of the approaching Hurricane Delta. Great job, Team AllenES!!

Poster Title: Beneficial Use of Dredge Materials  for Marsh Habitat Creation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Presenter: Mr John Bourgeois

Abstract: The program included the assessment, planning, and design of containment berms in sensitive environments to restore coastal marsh habitat through the placement of dredge material. The projects included marsh restoration at the mouth of the Wolf River in St. Louis Bay and North Beardslee Lake near the Pascagoula River. The projects included containment berm design including stability and settlement analysis, consideration of wind/waves on the survivability of the projects, hydraulic design of weirs, erosion control design, and construction document development.

Poster Title: Creation of Living Shorelines on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Presenter: Mr Will Pentecost

Abstract: The project included the assessment, planning, and design to improve the resilience against seaward erosion of a stretch of Front Beach in Ocean Springs, MS through a natural system of erosion control measures supplemented with engineered technology.


September Lunch and Learn Presentation

Kyle Little, GIT and Jordan Hollinghead, GIT presented “Tools for Delineating Contaminant Mass at Assessment and Remediation Sites” for the AllenES lunch and learn presentation this month.

RCRA Seminar Led by Rick Sumrall, P.E.

Rick Sumrall, P.E. provided an informative lunch and learn to AllenES staff this month focused on the importance, regulatory significance and technical process of completing a RCRA hazardous waste determination.  We started the seminar with a Health and Safety moment.  For those attending in the Corporate Office, they practiced physical distancing, and other offices joined via Teams online meeting platform.

Hancock County’s Board of Supervisors Sign the Embrace the Gulf Proclamation

Jay Estes, AICP attended the Hancock County BOS Meeting on July 6, 2020  where the Embrace the Gulf Proclamation was Signed!  A big thank you to the Hancock County Board of Supervisors for recognizing the importance of the Gulf of Mexico!

Paul Lanning, RLA volunteers his time and talent to local school!

AllenES is proud of our very own, Paul Lanning for assisting with upgrades to a local school’s playground.

Paul is a Registered Landscape Architect and recently volunteered to provide his skills and experience regarding the playground project’s design, approval and installation.

We hope many young and happy children will use the new playground in the upcoming school year.
