Groundwater Sampling Lunch-N-Learn

John Ryan, P.G. of AllenES provided an Introduction to Groundwater Sampling lunch-n-learn presentation on October 3, 2022.  The presentation included an overview of the following: groundwater standards, lithology, sources,  well construction, water level gauging, sampling options, the importance of collecting representative samples, chain of custody, packaging and cooling, field documentation, and proper reporting.  It was an informative presentation – thank you, John!

🌲USFWS Bat Survey Workshop🦇

Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. natural resource scientists attended a bat survey workshop organized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). The workshop provided training and field demonstrations related to bat identification and survey techniques. There are currently three species of bats in Mississippi listed under the Endangered Species Act which require consultation for federally-funded projects. 🦇

Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. attended the “Is Your Business Disaster-Ready? A Business Continuity Planning Workshop” to enhance our resilience and business continuity strategies. The hands-on workshop, sponsored by NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Sea Grant Mississippi-Alabama, and the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, was taught by Tracie Sempier and Rhonda Price.

AllenES Partner and Senior Principal Planner, Jay C. Estes, AICP, facilitated the discussion on identifying hazards and assessing risks.

The Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. team swapped their hardhats and spreadsheets for bowties and an evening on the town at the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra‘s 80th Anniversary celebration! 🎉✨

We enjoyed a magical night filled with beautiful music, laughter, and a touch of elegance. A special shoutout to our Principal Engineer, Michael Hohm, P.E., who joined us in making this night unforgettable. 🎶💼

🌟 Madison County Business League & Foundation 2025 League and Legislative Luncheon 🌟

Allen Engineering and Science, Inc. had the privilege of attending the Madison County Business League & Foundation 2025 League and Legislative Luncheon. The Honorable Speaker of the House, Jason White, delivered valuable updates on current legislative issues and their implications for Mississippi businesses. 🏛️📈

🌟 Insights from the MS/AL Twin States Conference for American Society of Landscape Architects! 🌟

Paul Lanning, RLA joined other landscape architects at the MS/AL Twin States Conference. The conference was held at The Lodge at Gulf State Park
in City of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The sessions were incredibly insightful, and a few truly stood out:

1.       Drones in Landscape Architecture: Exploring innovative ways drones are transforming our approach to landscape design and management.
2.       AI to Improve Workflows: Discovering how artificial intelligence is streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency in the landscape architecture and CAD drafting space.
